Imagine your life is perfect in every respect; what would it look like?
In the previous articles I have imparted valuable information and hopefully, I have given you the impetus to change your life and begin to see HOW you can create a new you.
Meditation had always been difficult for me.
I couldn’t settle down to getting past the first few days.
It seemed akin to going to the Gym, I couldn’t get that going either.
I thought meditation was only about becoming centred, stilling the mind which would lead to maybe hearing or envisioning something that would be profound.
It is all of those things and so much more.
To begin with, when you close your eyes you are shutting out the distractions that are with us 24/7.
Whether you are comfortable with meditation yourself or with guided meditation, there is no right or wrong, only what you’re comfortable with.

Creating Your Own Reality
When you meditate, you become the observer.
You begin to monitor your thoughts and then with practice you enter the Quantum Field.
The field of the nonphysical, where you can create all that you desire.
The new you.
When I truly understood this, I used to get so excited that I couldn’t wait to meditate.
I still do.
I have experienced the results and changed my life.
I became a new me.
Meditating is the key, to initiate the change, all the other information is fantastic and you need it to fully understand what you need to do and what you have available to you, but you need to meditate.
We know that feelings follow thought, so it is safe to say that up to now, our thoughts which have come and gone unobserved have left us with feelings, moods that affect our actions and reactions. We have become puppets.
Think about the times you may have felt really fantastic and then a bill arrives unexpectedly, suddenly up comes the, where am I going to get the money to pay it from and then starts our descent into the past, bringing up all those unwanted memories, feelings and sure enough by the time we finish, we are in a nice old mood.
Was all this intentional?
It’s what the mind does when it is unobserved.
It becomes Frankenstein’s monster.
Meditation allows us the time to become separate from our everyday thoughts and really focus on what we DO want.
The most amazing amount of research has been done and is still being researched into the workings of the mind.
We now know that the mind causes all our unhappiness.
We start with a thought, we act on it and there it is manifested in our material world.
The worst part of all, is you probably didn’t even (pardon the pun) think about it.
Well you did think about it.
You were doing what you mostly do.
Thinking on automatic.
To get off this constant merry go round, you need to break the thoughts and how you have always identified yourself with those thoughts.
Regular meditation is the answer.
You become the thinker of your thoughts.
The observer rather than the thoughts themselves.
How excited will you be when you really get, that you are the Creator of your Own Reality.
You are not your work, your family, your boss, your teacher and the list go on.
You are not involved in the doom and gloom thoughts of the past or the crappy movie that is being projected onto your mind screen.
I’m not saying you won’t have challenges or problems, you will, but you will handle them from a different perspective.
One that is clear and not through the haze of feelings that are always associated with them.
We will respond more efficiently.
Meditation is your vehicle to live in the here and now and not in the past or the future that has been based on past thinking.
Louis Proto put it really well when he said, “Meditations helps us to lose our minds and come to our senses.”
There are many benefits in all areas of our lives, that we can derive from meditating.
I won’t mention all of the areas, but some are things like improved memory, being centred under stress, improvements in health, improved longevity, reduced need for medical care, we can reduce our incidence of disease, improved self-image, reduced use of substance abuse and the list is endless.
It has always been drummed into us that to change our quality of life we need to work harder, and do more.
Meditation is non-doing.
It is effortless.
You don’t control it, you relax into it.
Research now shows us that meditation allows the brain to build new neurological networks.
The neurons in the brain begin to fire and wire in new sequences.
This happens because you are thinking differently, when you think differently, you will experience the new you and this in turn will become your new reality.
Can you see just by taking the time to meditate you are learning to consciously create your new reality.
You don’t have to be locked into feeling that your life is out of control.
You are the controller.

Meditating creates Magic
In the Tibetan language to Meditate means “to become familiar with” and this is what you need to do.
You need to become very familiar with yourself.
To shed the old and become the new person, you will need (as I have said before) to be conscious of your thoughts.
To observe what you are thinking, what you are doing.
Be very diligent, this is where we take charge of our minds.
It is not enough to just relax, we need to be able to switch off all the procession of thoughts that are automatic.
By this I mean those thoughts that come and go on a minute by minute basis. That you are not even aware of.
We could say that your mind is doing its own thing. It doesn’t know when to shut up.
When we meditate, we are wanting to experience relief from the mind’s constant restlessness.
To enter that field that gives us peace within and where we can intentionally access our future, which is already there waiting for us.
So, what really happens when we meditate?
First thing we do, is let go the flight or fight response that we all live with on a daily basis.
Our breathing slows.
Our muscles relax and we lower our heart rate.
Our blood pressure lowers and we start to switch off, very important.
You may be asking yourself what is the difference between meditating and sitting in a comfortable chair and relaxing or taking a nap?
You use up more oxygen and produce carbon dioxide quicker when you are meditating than when you are asleep.
It would take you more than four or five hours to decrease your intake of oxygen which ends up only a small percentage lower than when you are awake.
The decrease in lactate in the blood is significantly lower when meditating than just putting your feet up.
Also, the changes that happen in brain wave activity are very different from those when you are just resting.
It’s very exciting to know that brain activity, blood pressure and heart rate have all been measured very scientifically using an electroencephalograph (EEG).
Most of our working day and probably our waking hours are spent in the Beta area.
This area has three levels depending on what sort of day you are having.
If you find yourself upset in traffic or from some other experience, then you will end up in the high end of Beta. Not a good place to remain in, you would feel very stressed at this level.
So, you would need to relax in some way.
The next level is Alpha. At this level there is a feeling of being blissful, the more you relax and go deeper into the Alpha State you will enter Theta. This is the half asleep or dreaming state.
The more you move into slower brain wave states, the more you begin to access your inner world, the world of the subconscious.
Once you get used to meditating you will move from survival to a more creative space. You learn to listen to what is in space, you become nothing, you learn to let go.
Meditating is practice, practice, practice and then once you master it, you are well on your way to creating a new you.
A new mind for a new future.
Keep meditating it is so worth the effort.
Just think, out of meditating you can be, do or have anything you want.
